The CMAS-ISA 2 Star Instruction course is designed to train and qualify approved candidates to CMAS 2 Star Instructor level. These instructors may teach all levels of scuba diving as well as specialities and issue CMAS-ISA certification. In-date Two Star Instructors are voting members of CMAS-ISA. This course is designed to ensure that candidates who receive certification as CMAS-ISA Two Star Instructors, have the knowledge, skills and proper attitude to be able to promote and encourage the education and training of the general public in the principles and techniques of safely participating in underwater scuba activities.
An in-date Two Star CMAS-ISA Instructor may independently teach CMAS-ISA sanctioned entry level Skin Diving and Scuba Diving courses up to Two Star level. Dive Master and Three Star may only be presented after certifying at least 35 One Star or Two Star divers. An in-date CMAS-ISA Two Star Instructor may independently teach all the CMAS-ISA speciality courses, except Technical Courses, if he/she:
- Is in possession of the appropriate speciality qualification.
- Have assisted on two additional courses of that speciality (where applicable).
- Have certified at least 35 One Star or Two Star divers.
- Have met all additional prerequisites a speciality may have.
Candidates for the Two Star Instructor Course must
Be at least 18 years old
Must be in possession of a medical certificate clearing the holder as fit to participate in the sport of underwater diving. A medical practitioner using the CMAS-ISA Sport Diver medical examination form, must have carried out the medical examination not more than 12 months previously.
Be in possession of a CMAS-ISA Dive Master (or currently certified Divemaster qualification from a recognised Diver Training Organisation) and a CMAS-ISA Three Star Master Diver qualification.
