The tuition of individual 1 Star and higher qualified divers to obtain additional knowledge on safe and competent ways of planning, preparing and performing night dives safely.
To attend the Night Diver Course
Must be at least 14 years old.
Prior to participating in any practical training, the student must submit a medical certificate clearing the holder fit to participate in the sport of underwater diving. A medical practitioner, using the CMAS-ISA Sport Diver medical examination form, must have carried out the medical examination not more than 12 months previously.
Must hold a CMAS-ISA 1 Star Sport diver certificate or approved recognised equivalent certificate. A minimum of 15 additional dives must have been logged since qualification (at least 2 of these dives must have been performed within two weeks prior to the course).
To write the Night Diver examination:
- Must attend a Night Diver course overseen by at least an in-date Two Star Instructor (Course Convenor)
- To apply for the Night Diving Certificate.
- Must pass the theory examination as set by a panel of Instructors, or as set by CMAS-ISA. A pass mark of 65% is compulsory.
- Must attend two practical sessions.
Parts 5 & 6 must be completed on the same course. Failing which parts 5 and 6 must be re-done. The above-mentioned prerequisites are the minimum required for the CMAS-ISA Night Diver Certificate.
